The Latin American Tourism Forum is a communication project of the Conpeht Foundation and the Pan American Confederation of Schools of Hotel Management, Gastronomy, and Tourism, which provides a space for academics and researchers from universities in Latin America and the Caribbean to express their opinions on tourism.

Tourism has undergone significant evolution and development, becoming a relevant human activity with important interrelations and effects on society, the economy, culture, the environment, etc.

In the context described, universities and their academics and researchers make a valuable contribution to the training and education of human capital and conduct important research and studies to better understand the causes and consequences of the evolution and functioning of tourism, its characteristics, structure, and its contribution to the well-being of people, the knowledge of cultures and nationalities, and its collaboration towards understanding, integration, and world peace.

All this wealth of knowledge and experience places them in a privileged position to give their specialized opinion on tourism permanently and systematically, as authorities, entrepreneurs, and professionals do through their channels and means of communication.

In these times of great health, economic, and human difficulties, academics and researchers in tourism from Latin American and Caribbean universities are in a position to contribute ideas, proposals, and background to support the recovery of tourism in the American continent and the world.

In the first stage, the forum will be updated every 3 months with the opinions provided by the columnists who participate based on a standardized format and defined criteria, with the commitment to actively participate in this project for at least one year.

Another important feature of the forum is that it will be bidirectional, allowing for a conceptual and technical dialogue between readers and columnists, thus creating a Latin American tourism forum.
